Abstract

The purposes of this research were to: 1) examine the conditions of using the teaching practicum manual in schools among second-year undergraduate students, 2) investigate the problems and obstacles encountered in using the manual, and 3) explore recommendations for improving the effectiveness of its implementation. The sample consisted of 250 second-year undergraduate students enrolled in the second semester of the 2025 academic year. Key informants included 32 mentor teachers and supervising instructors. The research instruments were questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis.

The results revealed that: 1) the overall condition of implementing the teaching practice manual was at a high level (m = 4.12, s = 0.55), with the highest level found during the internship phase, followed by the post-internship and pre-internship phases; 2) the overall problems and obstacles were at a high level(m = 3.51, s = 0.76), with major issues including excessive workload, limitations in submitting assignments through online systems, and the extensive content of the manual requiring considerable time for study; and 3) the recommendations suggested that the manual should be revised to be more concise, reduce redundancy in recording forms, enhance student preparation, and promote continuous supervision. In addition, assignment submission should primarily be conducted in printed document format rather than online systems due to usability limitations, in order to improve the overall effectiveness of the manual implementation.
