Abstract

This research aimed to 1) examine the roles of school administrators in implementing the student support system for students with depression, 2) examine the implementation of  the student support system for students with depression, and 3) analyze the role of school administrators affecting the implementation of the student support system for students with depression. The sample group consisted of 327 school administrators and teachers under the Pathum Thani Secondary Educational Service Area Office. The sample size was determined using Krejcie and Morgan’s table, derived by stratified random sampling based on school size to determine the proportional size of each group. Then, simple random sampling was applied by drawing lots to obtain the sample for each school size. Data were analyzed by finding frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and conducting stepwise multiple regression analysis.

The research results revealed that 1) the overall and individual levels of the roles of school administrators in implementing the student support system for students with depression were at a moderate level; 2) the overall and individual levels of the implementation of the student support system for students with depression were at a high level; and 3) the role of school administrators affecting the implementation of the student support system for students with depression (Ytot) included policy formulation and planning (x1), leadership (x2), supervision, monitoring and evaluation (x4), and participatory management (x5), with statistical significance at the .05 level. The regression equation in raw score form is as follows: Ŷ = 0.377 + 0.422 (x5) + 0.202 (x4) + 0.140 (x1) + 0.129 (x2). The model predicts 84.2% of the variance in school administration practices.
