การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาบทบาทของผู้บริหารสถานศึกษาในการดำเนินงานระบบดูแลช่วยเหลือนักเรียนที่มีภาวะซึมเศร้า 2) ศึกษาการดำเนินงานระบบดูแลช่วยเหลือนักเรียนที่มีภาวะซึมเศร้า และ 3) วิเคราะห์บทบาทของผู้บริหารสถานศึกษาที่ส่งผลต่อการดำเนินงานระบบดูแลช่วยเหลือนักเรียนที่มีภาวะซึมเศร้า กลุ่มตัวอย่างในการวิจัย คือ ผู้บริหารสถานศึกษาและครู สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษาปทุมธานี รวมทั้งสิ้น 327 คน ได้มาโดยวิธีการเปิดตารางของเครจซี่และมอร์แกน โดยสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบแบ่งชั้น จำแนกประชากรตามขนาดของสถานศึกษา และสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบง่าย เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แบบสอบถาม ได้รับแบบสอบถามกลับคืนมาจำนวน 270 ฉบับ คิดเป็นร้อยละ 83 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการหาความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และ การวิเคราะห์การถดถอยพหุคูณแบบขั้นตอน
ผลการวิจัย พบว่า 1) บทบาทของผู้บริหารสถานศึกษาในการดำเนินงานระบบดูแลช่วยเหลือนักเรียนที่มีภาวะซึมเศร้า โดยภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง 2) การดำเนินงานระบบดูแลช่วยเหลือนักเรียนที่มีภาวะซึมเศร้า โดยภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก 3) บทบาทของผู้บริหารสถานศึกษา ด้านกำหนดนโยบายและวางแผน (x1) ด้านเป็นผู้นำ (x2) ด้านนิเทศ ติดตามและประเมินผล (x4) และด้านการบริหารแบบมีส่วนร่วม (x5) ส่งผลต่อการดำเนินงานระบบดูแลช่วยเหลือนักเรียนที่มีภาวะซึมเศร้า (Ytot) สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษาปทุมธานี อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 สามารถเขียนสมการพยากรณ์ในรูปของคะแนนดิบได้ ดังนี้ Ŷ = 0.377 + 0.422 (x5) 0+ 0.202 (x4) + 0.140 (x1) + 0.129 (x2) และ มีอำนาจพยากรณ์ร้อยละ 84.2
