Development of the Model for French Speaking Skill by Using Scaffolding Technique and Building Growth Mindset in Students

Abstract

The research aimed to 1) develop a model for French speaking skill by using scaffolding technique and building growth mindset in students, 2) compare the assessment results of French language speaking proficiency using scaffolding technique and building growth mindset in students before and after instruction, and 3) study students’ opinions with French language speaking using scaffolding technique and building growth mindset. The sample of this study was tenth grade students in the program English-French of the Kasetsart University Laboratory School Kamphaeng Saen Campus  Educational Research and Development Center. The research instruments were training materials using scaffolding technique and building growth mindset for French speaking skill and tests for assessing French language speaking. Data were analyzed using percentages, mean, standard deviation. The research findings are as follows: 1) the efficiency of French speaking skill were at 75.70/80.40, 2) the results of the assessment of knowledge and ability to speak French language after studying were higher at a significant level of .05 (t(9) = 12.04, p < .001), and  3) students’ opinions with French speaking skill using scaffolding technique and building growth mindset was at the high level ( = 4.43, S.D.= 0.63).
