Guidelines for developing the student care and support system at Thamakavitthayakom school in Kanchanaburi Province

This research aims to 1) study the operation of the student care and support system, and 2) propose guidelines for developing the student care and support system. The sample group was selected by using stratified random sampling. The sample group consisted of 5 school administrators and 80 government teachers at Thamakavitthayakhom school in Kanchanaburi province, making a total of 85 participants. Additionally, key informants for interviews include 5 school administrators selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included a questionnaire with an index of item-objective congruence (IOC) ranging from 0.67 to 1.00 and a cronbach’s alpha of .939. Data were analyzed using arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and content analysis for the interviews.
The results of the study were as follows.
1) The operation of the student care and support system across all five aspects was rated at the highest mean level. 2)The development guidelines for the student care and support system at Thamakavitthayakhom school in Kanchanaburi province include the following: (1) Students knowing individually through the development of an online database and aptitude tests to assess their capabilities. (2) Student screening is conducted through digital data collection which is supported by performance reports and personalized improvement recommendations, (3) Students are promoted and developed through activities tailored to their aptitudes with teachers acting as advisors, (4) A behavior tracking system is used to prevent and address problems among at-risk groups along with the implementation of individualized support plans, and (5) Student referrals are managed through a clear and systematic action plan. All of these approaches emphasize the use of technology and collaboration from all parties to ensure efficient and comprehensive student care.
