Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the role of school administrators in implementing pilot schools within the educational sandbox and 2) compare teachers’ perspectives, categorized by school size, teaching experience, and subject areas, on the role of school administrators in implementing pilot schools within an educational sandbox. The sample consisted of 104 government teachers from pilot schools in the educational sandbox under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office, Kanchanaburi, Muang Sing Educational Network, by using stratified sampling technique. The research tool was a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire with a reliability coefficient 0.94. The statistical methods used included mean, standard deviation, t-test, and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA).

            The findings were as follows. 1) teachers’ perspectives on the role of school administrators in implement pilot schools within the educational sandbox showed an overall average score at a high level.  The aspects of basic education quality management, administrative and management processes, student quality, and learner-centered instructional processes received high average scores in descending order. 2) By comparing school administrators' roles in implementing pilot schools based on teachers' perspectives, categorized by school size, work experience, and subject groups, the findings indicate that school size significantly affects teachers' perceptions of administrators' roles in four key areas: quality management of basic education, administrative processes, student-centered learning management, and student quality—all at .05 significance level. However, based on teaching experience and subject areas, teachers’ perspective on the role of school administrators in implementing pilot schools within the educational sandbox were not different.
